The Dream Is Over

When I awoke from my morning nap today I thought I’d check out the local music news, just to see if anything was happening. Well, the fine folks at Red House Studios in nearby Eudora recently changed the name of their studio to Black Lodge Recording. This really pisses me off. What’s worse, the studio is owned and operated by the guys from The Get Up Kids.
Now, some people may not know these things about me:
- I’ve wanted to open my own recording studio for years but I just haven’t been able to come up with the cash to do so. I was going to call my studio Black Lodge Recording (a reference to the David Lynch series Twin Peaks (one of my all time favorite shows)). I was going to paint the interior of the studio red and black, have black furniture and big red velvet curtains everywhere; I even wanted to have a squiggly black and white floor. Hell, all of the recording magazines and catalogs I have sent to my parent’s house come to Black Lodge Recording.
- I’ve never really been into the Get Up Kids. Now this! They’ve lost my vote for whatever positions they may want to run for in the future, them and all of the people in their many side-projects.
Stealing ideas from a disabled person…how pathetic is that?
