Am I Crazy?

The Eagles.
Why is it that every time I turn on the radio some station is playing the Eagles? It’s become sort of an inside joke around here. But I feel as though the Eagles are trying to take over the world.
The Eagles were/are based in California but during the 27 years I lived there I hardly ever heard them on the radio. Sure, I’d hear Hotel California or Life In The Fast Lane every once in a while, but that was about it.
For some reason, the people of the Midwest are nuts about this band. They play all of their songs. Sure, I’ve come to appreciate them but I’m not ready to throw out all of my other cds yet. And it’s not limited to just the Eagles as a group. The members are unstoppable too.
How can you escape? Why not watch some TV. Wrong. It won’t take long before you catch Don Henley on VH1 or hear Glenn Frey on Miami Vice. And if you’re really lucky you may even catch Robocop: The Series (music by Joe Walsh).
Damn!
You may be thinking, “I know, I’ll just listen to the “Alternative Rock” radio stations then”. You aren’t safe there either. It won’t take long before you hear the Ataris covering Henley’s “The Boys Of Summer”
I’m sure that there is an Eagles song on the radio at any given moment somewhere in the world. And I’d guess there is either an Eagles video or Eagles related video on TV at least every 30 minutes.
There is no escape. You cannot hide. You must accept the genius of The Eagles. Go buy their albums.
