How Am I Funny?

This weekend was “Mafia Movie Weekend” in our house. We decided we’d rent a bunch of mob movies and sit around eating pasta and cannolis (since none of us know how to make cannolis we had to settle for strawberry cake).
We rented Casino, Goodfellas, The Godfather and The Godfather II. Can anyone tell me why mob movies have to be so damn long? I mean, they are good movies but they are all about three hours apiece. The Godfather I & II have got to be about ten hours long total. Anyway, I’d never seen Casino and although it was excellent, I wonder why the cast was almost exactly the same as Goodfellas.
So, yeah, we’ve been watching movies for two days and are just about done with all of our movies; only about two hours of the Godfather II left.
If I’ve learned anything from all of these movies so far it’s this: I don’t know Italian.
A few other things I’ve learned:
- Being in the mob for a summer job would be great but I’d pass on the full time, permanent position.
- Mobsters don’t mind violence.
- Don’t act like too much of a fool when you’re in Las Vegas.
- You have to act like you have a bigger dick than everyone else at all times.
- Mobsters aren’t good at being faithful to their wives.
- Drugs are bad.
I highly recommend that everyone see these movies, especially if you are considering signing up with your local “family”. I also highly recommend Buca Di Beppo for Itallian food.
