Positive/Negative
The Good News:
After a long and rather trying wait, Maggie and I have been offered a position as live-in apartment managers. It mainly consists of keeping the apartment complex clean and fixing any minor things that come up. In exchange for the cleaning and such, we'll be getting a two-bedroom apartment for free. That may not sound too exciting but in this area a two bedroom apartment would start at about $1,200 a month.
Maggie has her full time job and I'll be able to work a part time job in addition to the apartment stuff so we should be in good shape here shortly.
I wonder if this counts as a job since I'm not getting paid. I may have to start posting on the Employment Pages.
The Bad News:
Yesterday, I woke up to find that someone had broken into my car. It was the weirdest thing. They took our digital camera, about $4 in change, a tin of mints and two packs of cigarettes. The weird part is that they left about fifty cds just sitting in the car (twenty of them were underneath the cigarettes in the glove compartment) as well as my cd player and my jacket. I'm happy that they didn't take the stereo or the cds, I would have been pissed off for sure. This just seems very strange and sorta funny.
I talked to our neighbors last night and it turns out that their car was broken into as well. The only thing missing out of their car was the ashtray. I would guess the ashtray was full of change because otherwise, that just doesn't make any sense. Then again, maybe they needed a place to put all of the butts and ash from the cigarettes they stole from me.
